Fox 2 Detroit’s Deena Centofanti did a story on Mike Clark’s gallbladder surgery. Then a few days later the Detroit Free Press Names and Faces writer John Smyntek wrote an article attacking the piece as a May Sweeps Stunt. Sminty calls in to defend his article. Then later in that same show, Deena Centofanti calls in and responds to Sminty’s attack article.
In 2009 a guy named Russell got in trouble for cranking John Denver at three in the morning. The guys tried to track him down ended up talking to three interesting people.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) — Police responding to a complaint of loud noise have cited a Fond du Lac man for “rocking out” to the music of John Denver. A police who responded to the man’s apartment last week could hear Denver’s music through the door. The officer pounded on the door but the man didn’t answer. Finally the officer found out the man’s name from a neighbor and called to him, bringing the man to the door.
When asked why he had the music so loud, the man said he was “rocking out.”
The Reporter newspaper in Fond du Lac reported that the 42-year-old was cited for unnecessary loud noise. The ticket could result in a fine of about $210.
The late Denver is known for such hits as “Rocky Mountain High” and “Take Me Home, Country Roads.”
In this clip, he comes on WRIF just prior to the Detroit/Philadelphia series and refuses to admit he was wrong. He goes on to predict Detroit would lose to Philly in 6. The Pistons ended up beating the 76ers in six games however. Then as we all know, they won the NBA championship the following year.
This is seriously one of the funnest Drew and Mike phone calls I’ve ever heard. They stumble onto a housekeeper named Clara from Columbia, South Carolina.
Drew and Mike talk to Abbie Finfrock, who wrote an article in April of 2005 called, “Sex, power and the Monica factor.” Drew wonders why anyone would keep hitting on her, since she’s really not that hot.
Mike lets us know that a PI was on the case looking for Tony of Ray and Pete fame. This leads the guys to listening to 17 minutes of Ray and Pete audio. Good stuff.

Back in December of 2006 Drew and Mike call Adele, an elderly woman who makes her Mexican employees learn English if they want to work for her. The conversation quickly turns to illegal immigration, the Wall on the US/Mexican border. She pretty much outlines Donald Trump’s border policy, 10 years before he did.
